Whenever you think of counseling, I am sure you imagine that stereotypical couch and you sitting with the therapist answering questions like, “And how does that make you feel?”.
It was business as usual up until the Covid-19 Pandemic started last year. I saw all my clients in my office, sitting on my stereotypical couch and them telling me all about how anything and everything makes them feel. Today, as schools are starting back in person and we start to move back to an idea of normalcy, I am enjoying my stereotypical couch in my office outside of my home!
I currently offer BOTH Tele-therapy and In-person sessions. You are allowed to choose what platform is most convienent for your schedule!
Tele-therapy is a lot like Skype or FaceTime, where the client and therapist can see each other and talk as if in that office setting, I mentioned earlier. For some clients, this brings A LOT of anxiety because change is hard and right now, we are surrounded by change. But there are some benefits to Tele-therapy and clients soon realize that it is an excellent option and is just as beneficial as face to face sessions.
Here’s why people choose tele-therapy:
- Video sessions are free from distraction and private, with the client being able to choose the environment they want to have the session in. The comfort of your own space allows you, the client, to completely relax into your session making it easy to feel heard and connected.
- Video sessions are significantly more convenient than coming to a physical office. Whether it is meeting in the comfort of your own home or on a lunch break at work, tele-therapy eliminates the commute and allows more flexibility into your schedule.
- Video sessions also allow me to be able to meet your pets! And you can meet my dog, Bandit, and my cats, Vinnie, Doc and Daisy!
I have included a handout which explains exactly how tele-therapy works. Click on the link below and you will see how easy it is for us to stay connected.
